Vintage Styled Marquee wedding

Sophie and Alex are a multi-talented duo that have a beautiful love story then not one but two beautiful weddings that totally reflected their tastes as well as them both bringing on board their network of friends and family to help them making their day happen (including me!).  In fact, this couple not only had one wedding, they had two!  Alex met Sophie in Brighton so their first wedding was an intimate 'destination' wedding - road trip from Nottingham to the sunny shores of their first date, Brighton, captured most beautifully by Emily & Katy Wedding Photography - click here to see their photos.

Their second wedding was a large garden marquee wedding at the home of Sophie's godparents in the West Midlands.  They have a lovely home and beautiful huge garden that staged the marquee.  It was very apparent how much effort and time had gone into dressing the marquee in vintage items with a pastel colour scheme, collecting vintage china, teapots, making miles of bunting and lots of other lovely DIY touches.  Sophie looked amazing in her stunning gown and she then changed into an ivory silk reception dress with a lace cover up in the evening.  Alex and his best men including his young son looked dapper in their suits.  Musician Alex enlisted several of his friends to play their instruments and DJ throughout the day and make-up artist Sophie enlisted her creative friends to do wedding photography and make up!  Caribbean food was on the menu by local outside caterers and it was delicious.  I created a 7 tier cupcake tower with lemon, carrot and cookie butter cupcakes and vanilla and raspberry top tier cake for the newlyweds to take home with them.  It was a truly memorable day and an excellent example of how to do a DIY wedding!

Sophie sent me the most epic testimonial!

"Despite Great Grandma wars over who got to make our wedding cake, my husband Alex always said ‘It’s got to be Natasha, she is so talented’. And now I know why he insisted. Natasha’ cupcake tower made our wedding so special, it was the centre piece to the day and a delicious treat for all of our guests to complete the celebrations.

During an initial consultation, Natasha paid so much detail to the Vintage theme of our garden wedding, carefully studying our scrapbook of inspiration for everything from my dress to the flowers. We worked together to come up with the perfect flavours and style to enhance our colour scheme. She created personalised mood boards for us, which gave me confidence that we were on the same page visually.  During our tasting of the cakes prior to the wedding we were blown away not only by the appearance, but the deliciousness of the cupcakes and softly whipped icing. We couldn’t forget the taste and they quickly became one of things we were most looking forward to about the whole experience.

On the day, Natasha came to set up the cake with a cascading organza bow and arranged fresh flowers on the top tier. All of our wedding guests couldn’t wait to taste them and after the cutting of the cake they were not disappointed.

I would definitely recommend Natasha to create your perfect wedding cake. She has a strong creative vision and listens to you to ensure she creates your signature cake based on your own personality. Her approach is very calming, and reassuring and she seems to work quietly in the background suddenly producing an amazing result!

Thank you so much Natasha! We hope you’ll be able to make cakes for all of our family events in the future!

Love Sophie & Alex xxx"

Thank you so much for having me be a part of your special day - it was amazing and you are a fabulous couple.
